The weather in Israel during July and August is usually humid and hot by day (30 - 35 °C) but comfortable (20 - 22 °C) at night. Such weather requires some precautions: drink water frequently, and minimize exposure to direct sun.
Consider the weather when packing clothes. Dress is informal: shorts, jeans, sports shirts and sandals are all acceptable. For tours and trips you will require good walking shoes, sun-hats and possibly a sweater or sweat shirt. When visiting some holy sites, women must wear a skirt and shirt with elbow length sleeves, and men long pants (trousers), not shorts.
The following list is what we recommend you to bring, and is based on activities that are scheduled, and from former SciTech camp experiences. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
1. Clothes - The camp duration is three weeks, please pack accordingly. Keep in mind that laundry is available at all times. Shirts with long sleeves and T-shirts (to minimize risk of getting sun burnt). We ask that you bring at least one pair of formal clothes for the closing ceremony and one pair of worm clothes.
2. Footwear - Please bring comfortable walking shoes (we will be hiking), sandals and water gear (for beaches, hikes including water and showers).
3. Personal Toiletries.
4. Daypack, wallet and pouch for important documents.
5. Personal medications, sunscreen, insect repellent, sun glasses, a sun hat and sun tan lotion/sunscreen.
6. Swimsuit, swim-cap and two towels.
7. Small rucksack, knapsack for a trip.
8. Bedding - sheet, blanket, pillowcase.
9. Writing materials - pencils, notebooks, etc.
10. Calculator
11. Flashlight (torch).
12. Alarm clock
13. Medical form, Parental release form: your copies, in addition to those included in your Participant Package.
Israelis only - bring your magnetic medical insurance card|

Joint committees of participants and counselors will include Newspaper, Sport and Party Committees. These committees are intended to involve participants in decisions concerning the program's social activities. This is in addition to the various cultural events on campus, which include concerts, drama and movies.
